Program Description

Body

Join us for an afternoon poetry workshop with local authors Timons Esaias and Kevin M. Hayes.

Do couplets leave you cold? Odes too obscure? Sonnets too stuffy? Relax and find your rhythm in this informal workshop. Whether you're just starting out or you'd like some tips to improve, two professional writers are here to help.

Timons Esaias is a satirist, writer and poet living in Pittsburgh. His works, ranging from literary to genre, have been published in twenty-two languages. Honors include half a dozen Best of anthology appearances, a Winter Anthology Award, two Asimov's Readers' Awards, the Louis Award, an Intrepid Award, a SFPA Prize, and numerous award shortlists. He will be appearing as a remote presenter.

Kevin M. Hayes' first short story, “The Thithshtach Diner” won the Parsec Short Story Contest in 2001. He has been published in Parsec INKʼs first two Triangulation anthologies in 2003 and 2004, “The Realm Beyond” and “TV Gods,” both from Fortress Publishing, and also a story in WorD Publishingʼs first anthology “Knee Deep in Little Devils.” Currently, he's editing another anthology for WorD and he has co-moderated the WorD writing and critique group for over ten years.

Registration is required for this program, and there is a limit of 20 registrants.
